Story for #Festive500 Afternoon Ride
A last ride in 2016 in my home city. Next day I was going to the mountains as I've mentioned before, so this afternoon I decided to take a short ride with my mommy to the Malta Lake.
This is an artificial lake. It was formed in 1952 as a result of the damming of the Cybina River. It is about 2.2 km long, which makes the lake the biggest man-made lake of the city. The water is 3.1 m deep on average with a maximum about 5 m.
Now the lake stays without the water. In the late autumn the water was drained to clean the bottom of the lake. As you can see on the photo only a thin line of Cybyna River is going now across the empty Malta Lake.
