Story for: Happiness is finding one of your favorite roads reopened and with new tarmac..Out & Back to Charles St.

  This ride was a long time coming. One of my favorite stretches of road was under construction for about a year. It's not a long road but, it is a fun winding up & down one that runs behind Johns Hopkins University. It was really good if I wanted to do a simple out & back close to home. I found out that it was reopened on accident. I just happened to be riding one of my normal loops and I went past the entrance to San Matin Drive and found that the construction fences were gone!!. I really wanted to go down there on the spot but, It wasn't part of my plan for the morning (yes I can shift on the fly if need be but this time I had to stick to the plan with having to make back in time to go to work and all).
So, The plan for the weekend was to get out early and ride the newly opened section. It did not disappoint. The tarmac was smooth as silk and they even added some stone crosswalks to mix it up, not exactly like having a Cobbled road but still it will be interesting.The road itself was never in that bad of shape maybe a few cracks &  rough surfaces here and there but nothing that was too bad. I was really happy to have one of my favorite places to ride back and I will be riding that a lot in the coming months. It's going to be really beautiful back there when spring hits, nice and green, even better when fall comes around with the trees changing colors.
