Visiting The Bricks
This morning was in the upper 40s and I am not equipped with the right clothing to stay warm while cycling at that temperature so I opted for an evening ride. I had to squeeze the ride in before the church finance committee meeting that started at 6, so that's what happened!
I tried to improve some on a few segments, not that they matter, but it's something to do while getting a good work-out. I was only able to get one personal record and a few second bests, so it wasn't all I had hoped for. This evening I also encountered a few detours in the Prairie View Heights subdivision area as they continue to improve the roads over there. My phone mount broke when I went over a small bump and it went sliding across the road. Fortunately no car ran over it before I could retrieve it!
I got to church about 5 minutes early. Tassi met me there with a change of clothes so that the other men wouldn't be in awe of my cycling outfit. We had a good meeting and when it was adjourned I had to get ready for the ride home. On the way out to the parking lot I took two photos of the memory walk bricks that honor my father and mother. They were born 8 years and one week a part in September so it was nice to see the bricks and reflect on what they meant to me.
I made pretty good time going home but I didn't ride straight home so that I could bump my distance just a bit more. I have three more days this week and I only need one more mile to meet my goal. I'll save that for tomorrow!
