Story for Chilly Climb Nightride At MountaindValley
Starting to ride in the cold breeze of the autumn night. I tested my winter clothing. It was a little bit too warm at least with 8 degrees celcius. I circled up and down the hill, each climb for about 82 m alt. In the end, at about 1200m alt, I tried to spin for 100 rpm cadence on a 10% grade steep section. It felt good so I went for a last sprint to get a PR on that section. That was my goal for 2016 but I didn't think it was possible after the crash in May this year. But anyway I gave it a try after a short pitstop. With all the clothing my HR went up too much and I could have spin a lot harder but even though I managed to set a PR. So there is room for improvement. Now I am back in the top 160 of a 8300 climbers there... next goal on this segment is to come closer to the time of a good fellow cyclist climber..we'll see. With this altitude gain more adding to the monthly goal for het climbing challenge 10-2016. Climbing 9000m alt in the Netherlands is a lot, but you can climb at Berg en Dal for about 600m alt per hour on this particular hill 'Nieuwe Holleweg'. I saw some runners on the hill too, even in the night, respectable. You can still read 'Rigoberto go' on the road..what a nice Giro d'Italia 2016 it was in Gelderland...
