Story for HIIT session with Coach Charlie
I saw a programme in Women's Running magazine that involved some interval sessions so on a Saturday afternoon I decided to try 20 secs hard 40 secs easy x 10. Charlie hadn't been out all day so I convinced him to come with me and be my "coach". He had his bike and my Garmin and we set off towards the rugby field. It worked really well because I didn't have to keep time myself. The first ten seconds of every effort I was invincible, I was strong, I was energetic.....then it all went pear shaped: "that must be twenty......why isn't that twenty....say stop now!" I had an extra minute of rest after five efforts and then there were five more to go. Four more. Three......more..... Say stop you little s***!!!!! Anyway, I'm glad I did it but it was so hard - made much easier by having my own little coach. Thanks Charlie! X
