Icicle 5.55 Miler - Wilmington, Delaware
Race #2 of 2017 is complete - the 41st Mayors Icicle Run. This was my first time participating in this race. Normally, the race is a 10 miler but the course was shortened due to the snow. The course/roads were fairly clear. I almost wiped out when I hit some ice on a bridge, but overall the streets were okay. This was my 145th race since 2004 and it was my first 5.55 mile so I set a PR today.
There were 295 participants. The temperature at the start was 15 degrees (wind chill -4). I managed to take some photos despite the cold, blustery conditions. The race has a reputation for hills and delivered even with a shortened course.

After the race, I met up with some friends from the Road Runners Club of Woodbury. Photo credit to Ed Becker.
