A big one... IoW Prep
First long (long) run for a while... Was not sure if I would be able to stay on my feet/ keep running the whole time. In the end I was/ did.
Lovely memories came back since this was part of the route of the London to Cambridge Challenge in 2016 (which I won :).
Route in general was very flat and I aimed for a constant pace from the beginning. As usual I was to quick on the first halfmarathon distance... but was able to manage the fatique by slowing down. Good to know for the upcoming 100k challenges.
In the end this (mini) ultra was a very good run to benchmark my current level of training with the one last year. Since I am injury free for a couple of months this makes me even more excited about the challenges in 2017.
A cherry on top of the ice cream... runner with the most distance covered in a week for the "Adidas Runners London" club. Some decent runners in there.
Not a big fan of just comparing the distance covered during a week of training... but yeah... still a good feeling.
