Story for Commute w/ AJ - back on the fixie
Way back before I ever jumped into a bike race I road my fixed gear single speed almost everywhere. It's an old Mercian steel made from Reynolds 635 tubing. Its ride quality is buttery smooth and has the fancy lug work that makes an old steel frame fun to look at. Paired with a set of Phil Wood hubs and other choice parts makes it a bike that I'll likely never get rid of. I've had this bike for almost 10 years now and even rode my first century on it!
Today I got it down and road with AJ to school and then on to work. It was great to take a break for pushing the pace and just enjoy the task of turning the cranks a bit slower but with a lot more rhythm.
