Keonehe'ehe'e - volcano running Maui

Sliding Sands was at the top of my trail running list during a recent visit to Maui.  The trail can be reached very easily by parking at the visitors center at the top of Haleakala.  The view below overlooks the trail that we descended to get into the crater.  The landscape changed quite a bit - the path was well worn with minimal technical sectionsSilversword plants are unique, there were several areas with many of these types of plants along the trailNick was able to achieve a couple CR's on segments that he was chasing -- bravo!Simply loved the calm, solitude and view inside the crater....next time we go longer and deeper!
