Story for Waiting for a Boy to Call: Childhood Memories Regained from the Seat of a Bike, Plus a Metric Century and River Gnats

I started this ride as a maybe four-hour  ride for fun. Near the beginning of the ride, I remembered a teenage time when (like happens to many young girls) a boy didn't call after he said he would. It hurt at the time now it's just funny especially since I'm married to a lady.

It's funny how it just being in the town where I grew up brought up memories.  I rode past my old house and school and places where I used to hangout when that town was my whole world and the world was vast and beautiful seen through those childhood eyes. Now that world seems small.

Instead of being out 4 hours, I was out 6 or so and went to all three towns by the river. I rode over one of the most beautiful bridges in the world and followed the Columbia River to the mouth of the Snake River.

All in all, it was a good day.
