Apple Valley with friends old and new
Apple Valley is one of the iconic rides in the Athens, GA area. If you were visiting for only a couple of days, I would definately point to this route. It is also fairly well marked beause so many local charity rides use segements of it in their routes. Saturday, I rolled out with some old friends but some new ones too. That is why cycling is so much fun. At some level there is still an underlying element of it that harkens back to your 12 year old self. "You ride a bike? So do I! Let's go have some fun on bikes." That said, as with most 12 year olds, you get a chance to race you bike when you Garmin suddenly pops up a segment and tells you are behind!
