Story for Rallye Sudety 2016 - fueling
Fueling is one of the question on every race. I have found that my sports watches helps me a lot. How? By watching and learning my calories burn trouhght training and then estimate the fueling I will need during the race. So after pre-race trainings I had some overview of the burned calories and the limit which showed me when I must eat (and how much).
For the Rallye Sudety I have count every 500Kcal and buy some food/fuel from Nutrend (bars, gels, magnesium) and hypotonic drink from USN. This combination sounds very good, but as I have recognized during the race, there were so few suitable terrain for eating and in the middle of the race I got sick (well the counting of fueling/Kcal was good), because I had to fuel more... After short break on the last refresment point where I got bun and water it started to be better and finally and after the last energy gel I helped one of the racemate to get to the final hill with no sick.
My time for this race is nothing killing, but I am happy to get this time, to had some knowledge about fueling, hydration and strategy. It is very important to think about the race in global and be prepared. Otherwise you will get sick, dehydrated and possibly visiting the ambulance.
