Seasons
The seasons are a natural progression of annual change that take place at the same cadence and same speed. They create the boundaries of our lives, constraints that control us and guide us along paths paved with possibility and predictability. The seasons define our time and dictate our actions. And since the beginning of time mankind has sought ways to conquer the seasons and control them, harness them for our own.  
The boardwalk was built to be a bridge between man dwelling on solid land and the stormy seas. A perch to view the civilization behind us and the vastness of the ocean ahead. Each plank, each nail, beaten into place for a purpose. Railings to keep us safe, boundaries to our exploration of the depths on the other side.


Our bicycles propel us along the planks, along the journey from the calm to the storm. A wave of fury rolling along the carefully placed boards, aside the railings that run parallel to the shoreline. The wheels spinning, legs churning, arms and eyes set forward, a tempest of movement swallowing up the boundary between land and sea, composure and chaos. The boardwalk becomes a bridge between the abyss of life and surface of the endless waters. Crossing over to the other side, it all becomes a blur. The winter air affected by the heat of chase. Man conquers seasons, seasons bind men, and the breeze of the bicycle frees them all.
